James Murphey began his construction and real estate career in 2015, working for a Luxury Home Builder while attending Texas A&M. While furthering his study, he shifted from residential to commercial. He began to work full-time as General Contractor on the second largest project in Texas A&M history. Upon project completion and graduation from his bachelor's. He made the career shift from construction-focused to real estate.
He re-enrolled in Texas A&M for a Master's in Business. Through his masters, he worked for Habitat for Humanity, assisting in the permitting, purchasing, and building of affordable housing. This is when he found a passion for development. Prior to graduation, he signed onto a local lot developer with the experience of developing over 30,000 lots within multiple markets.
Since beginning his career in development in 2019, he has aided in the development of over 10,000 lots in the local Dallas Fort Worth market. He then received his license in 2020 through TREC to be a sales agent to aid in the process of development.
James has years of experience on all sides of commercial development, from due diligence, acquisition, construction, and management of projects. He has a unique understanding of the land value and the mindset of owners and developers. He is currently working on obtaining his Real Estate Broker License, and he is a CCIM Candidate.
When not doing Business for his clients or himself, you can find him out in nature or rolling in the gym for Jiu-Jitsu.
